A Psychotherapy Practice

Our Shared Human Experience in the World

During our life journey, we live innumerable experiences, both joyful and painful, some deeply rewarding and meaningful and some hurtful and traumatic. Sometimes, thinking becomes rumination, worry becomes anxiety, sadness deepens into depression, restlessness disturbs our sleep, and efforts to shield ourselves from pain can, paradoxically, become obstacles to the change we need. Life’s challenges—such as loss, trauma, or chronic illness—can expose vulnerabilities and deep-seated uncertainty about ourselves and life.

I’ve learned that each moment of psychological pain contains an opportunity to change ignorance into understanding, unskillful behavior into skillful behavior, self-judgement into self-compassion, and being stuck into change and progress in our lives.

Psychotherapy is work we do together. I bring honesty, directness, and authenticity to the work. I value creating a supportive safe space for you to share your pain and struggles with me. I support you being honest and curious about yourself and your struggles. Integrating evidence-based methods with insights from contemplative traditions, our sessions become a collaborative exploration. We don’t limit our goals to alleviating distress and suffering; we aspire to cultivate a mindful relationship with your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors freeing you to live flexibly, creatively and fully according to what you value most in this life.

My aspirations for your life

May you discover what you truly value in life and

pursue what matters most with passion and vigor.

May you risk your heart to love and be loved, deeply.

May you live a long life with abundance of health and joy.

May you age with grace and in peace and dwell in wisdom.

My Psychotherapy Approach

I practice psychotherapy with people experiencing a wide range of psychological and behavioral concerns that impede psychological and physical well-being. My approach is humanistic, compassionate, direct and prioritizes understanding the underlying development and function of psychological difficulties rather than rigid diagnostic labels. I seek to understand each person within their own life context and developmental stage in life, including aging and chronic illness. Throughout my psychotherapy practice, I have supported people striving to express their authentic self as gendered persons in our world. My approach to psychotherapy is integrative, drawing from multiple evidence-based modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Mindfulness-Based Interventions, and Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy (EFT).

Tele-Psychology from the convenience and privacy of your own home

All psychotherapy visits take place through a secure, private, encrypted video-conferencing platform called Simple Practice. Clients may use a desktop or laptop computer, tablet, or smart phone. I currently work out of my home office located in Littleton Colorado.

I am currently accepting new clients for appointments on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

“The human body at peace with itself,

is more precious than the rarest gem.

Cherish your body, it is yours for this one time only.

The human form is won with difficulty, it is easy to lose.

All worldly things are brief, like lightening in the sky;

this life you must know, as the splash of a raindrop;

a thing of beauty that disappears, even as it comes into being.

Therefore, set your goal,

make use of every day and night to achieve it.”
